I'm not sure if the TDI has to be emissions tested or not in this state. I don't want to screw with or worry about the intake clogging, so I would like to have the EGR mod done.

I am just trying to do this before I start having issues with the particulate filter. An EGR delete is NOT the end all solution that some claim it to be. An EGR delete is ILLEGAL in ALL 50 STATES. HERE IS THE BULLETPROOF SOLUTION!Yanked out the egr cooler and looped the fluid hose to the heater core with a brass fitting. Yanked out the adblue tank with heater, wiring, hose, injector etc. Replaced the egr with a race pipe and cleaned out the intake manifold. I've been researching the same thing for my 2013 Jetta Sportwagen. You will need a delete kit and also a tune. One of the thing the tune does is tell the car to stop trying to initiate regens to clean the DPF, which will give you good fuel mileage gains. I'm looking at Rawtek, they sell both the parts and the Malone tune.
